This Blog’s Numerological Nature and Fate and Success

Numerologically this blog totals a 7 and comes from 8, in the standard energy flow of numerology.

Now for some suitable meditations on the numbers of 7 and 8, the numbers involved in spirituality, analysis, fate, and success…

What governs success?  Is it all chance?  Fate?  It seems to be fate if you think about, even if it is unfashionable to say so.

I’ve spent a lot of time and energy researching success, financial and otherwise.  Despite what people say there seems to be NO method, set of steps, or anything concrete or definable that helps one become successful.  It seems like karma or fate.  It may be ‘working hard’ but you also need skills and a lot of beneficial chances or luck coming your way.

There is no avoiding the fact you need luck, even if it is the luck to inherit the right skills, height, beauty, talent or whichever criteria you need to get where you wish to go.  On top of that then you need yet more luck!

It’s luck in the first place to have the energy and disposition to get the skills to even give you a chance.

Really most people have no idea why they are in the situation they are in, and almost no one has gone from  ‘zero to hero’, except by luck.

Nassim Taleb, author of The Black Swan, writes about this.  If you want a middle class life learn the skills and hope for the best (no injury or attack by a sociopath).  But to be rich you need a lot of luck.

Continued meditations on luck, numbers, life and fate coming up…

Lack of Freedom on Earth is Really Getting Disturbing

by success on March 22, 2009
in Uncategorized

There is less and less freedom with every passing day on this planet.

People have forgotten the merits of free speech.  With this mis-step a cascade of reductions in personal liberty occur shortly thereafter.  The governments of the Western World are behind this assualt on personal freedom; they are the creators or mediums of the new regulations on expression.

This can only lead to war.

There are things I could say that would prevent this.  But why do so? I have nothing to gain by it.

This world is made to collapse. It is an evolutionary process. It is only when there are enough people on the planet who have foresight and can see the future of how government changes society that we will have our freedom.

Our people are scattered. We are spread far and wide and we don’t have a ready means to identify each other in the internet world.

It may even be dangerous to do so.

Regardless, we are the future. One way or the other we will prevail if it is possible to do so.

Is the planet so locked down it’s impossible?  Perhaps.  But in all likelihood the coming war(s), the ones coming in the next 9 years, are likely to shake things up again.  Enough for us to win more freedom and build the real future, the one where the old humanity is left behind: the species will transition into something different from what came before.

887 and Number Energy Flow

In numerology the numbers tell a story. They tell of where energy flows in and where it goes. Let us contemplate a number sequence together…

887…

or, as it is often seen when adding the total of a name:

8

8

7

… does the energy flow in through the 8 and out through the 7; or into 7 and out through the 8?

Wealth and power (8) leading to introspection and spiritual insight (7)… or analysis and introspection and philosophical perspective (7) leading to abundance and power (8)…?

Usually numerology shows the energy coming through the top number, so to speak (8 in the case of this example).

The mind enters there.  The destiny or final outcome is the bottom or final number. However it looks like it could flow the opposite way, perhaps even better.

Example:

GOOGLE = 887

Google looks more to me like energy flow from 7 to 8, computer tech mind (7) leading to abundance, wealth, power (8). The final end is the power and influence and wealth, all 8 characteristics.

ROLLS ROYCE = 887

887 is said to be an exclusive number. In business it is prosperous but reserved, and there may only be a small number of clients. That sounds good.  Google is nothing like Rolls Royce, though; Google is for as many people as possible, and each one pays a bit. So I don’t know about the business associations of the number 7…

I think most likely it is that both numbers influence each other.  Determining exactly which energy is the fuel for the final result is extremely difficult if not impossible.  As well, it will depend on the owner of the business and how their mind connects to the numbers of their business.

School Shootings – Why? Here’s Why

by success on March 13, 2009
in Uncategorized

Another school shooting by a young man, this time in Germany.

Tim Kretschmer Shoots Many Dead in Germany

This is a hard subject for me to discuss but not because it is supposedly so  ‘inexplicable’ – it is hard for me to write about because it is so obvious!

The truth about this is a small percentage of the population understands automatically why these things happen.  Amazingly the vast majority of  humans do not understand – they are utterly baffled by it!

Online comments on the story reflect a total ignorance about the obvious reasons, and the usual idiotic commentary:  ‘are video games the culprit’; ‘the parents blah blah’; ‘guns should be banned outright’; etc…

Oh, it’s so stupid.  I can’t even bear to respond point by point to the utter stupidity, the total ignorance demonstrated by the public. What’s frightening, really, is how mindless and without values most people are (and I’m not talking about the shooter).

Are people alive? Are they robots? Drones? Slaves?

I will not tell you why Tim Kretschmer went on his rampage of slaughter.

You should know why.

As long as the vast majority of people are both clueless about it and unwilling to do anything about it even if they knew why, then this will continue on and on, and it will escalate.

This time Tim Kretschmer killed more teachers than the usual shootings.  It looks like 2 or 3 teachers were killed and one employee at the psychiatric institute where he was treated for depression.

Gradually expect the body counts in these events to become more targeted, to switch to teachers, authority figures, psychiatrists.

Also expect that with enough adults dying then this will get more serious attention.

In closing I will add a few words I posted to Arthur de Vany’s excellent blog on evolutionary fitness.

keeping young men in school forever as we do today, and basically powerless until age 30, would have no precedent – they would be hunters by 15 or 16, or dead. This may serve mediocre teachers by helping them pay their mortgages but not the young people, nor society.

I can’t tell people to WAKE UP, because those who are awake often, if not always, have no power. If this changes then the school shootings will stop. Otherwise… they will continue or we will endorse draconian measures that turn schools into prisons and lose all meaningful freedoms and true education in the process.

A spiritual revolution is needed.

God = Hope

by success on March 13, 2009
in Gods, Uncategorized

Warning!  Harsh truths ahead.  Do not read if you need a shot of positive energy.

Parts of humanity believe in a God because they have to; they can’t bear reality.

Reality doesn’t offer hope. Nor does it offer ‘progress’, ‘improvement’, or ‘achievement’ – these are human creations; they are cultural constructs designed to create a game of life, to make it either bearable or enjoyable depending on how much one is winning the game.

These games have no intrinsic value.

They are created by whoever has the largest numbers in society, or the most control as a group, and ruled by their dispositions and whims. As such it is unequal, arbitrary, and not tuned to any higher value such as justice, truth, or fairness (although it may masquerade as doing so to continue the pre-existing power structure).

The games or our society, of anyone that lives in what is ironically called ‘civilization’, are a form of genetic warfare.

It is waged at all times within human society, an interspecies war.

THE DENIED TRUTH ABOUT HUMANITY IS:

Humanity is innately genocidal

We kill aspects of our collective occasionally. As individuals we can’t see the reason for this.  And there may be no actual reason for this…

But we can’t say for sure.

Often there is a wisdom in nature, so it is possible these inter-species wars of ours serve an evolutionary function.

In fact from an evolutionary perspective this must be the case; that is, the mass culling of segments of humanity allow the survivors to grow stronger; and for parts of the collective body to thrive.

Humanity seems to fight for the survival and propagation of its entire species but in amounts and distribution we can never predict; humanity as a whole has an agenda of its own. It may calculate or sense the future in some way, or automatically calibrate for maximum survivability in a highly and increasingly uncertain environment.

This does not help us as individuals. To our own self this is meaningless, or even a violation of our desire for a higher ideal to guide life. So we may have to create a fantasy that there is such a higher ideal.

A hope made real… but untrue.

As long as the price of the delusions we hold as a society are the truth, and justice, true freedom, and harmony with our nature – then every social change ever thought of, every supposed new start, every revolution or supposed evolution will FAIL.

False hope has to die or there can be no true progress.

That Ol’ Time Religion – Shamanism

… wasn’t much of a religion. At least, not by today’s standards.

Religion has become incredibly strange in the hands of agricultural humanity.  It’s far removed from what is visible and far removed from nature.

The primal ancient religion of humanity was basically a kind of nature worship, called animism, where everything was alive and spirits were embedded in everything and everyone.

The main mode of experiencing this reality was shamanic. Shamans used drums, dancing, drugs, or a similar method to alter their consciousness and journey into the spirit world. From their visits to the spirit world they could learn where the animals are for a good hunt, heal, gain knowledge, and explain away the misfortunes of the tribe.

While most of us are probably not called to do all those things we can all benefit from a modern equivalent of shamanic journeying, which is guided imagery.  Guided imagery allows you to travel inwards, to relax; to visit your future; to go to protected places where you can recharge; to heal yourself; and much more.

The only limit is your imagination. And imagination can be unlimited.

Here are some FREE practices to help you tap into your innate shamanic powers, the hunter gatherer equivalent of the original religion.

Names and Success – A Study!

A Study of Names and CEO Success

Steve, Richard, Donald, John…

Just a few of the names at the top.  The study shows that names that are more highly represented in the population, such as James, don’t represent equally in the numbers of highly successful people.

It’s more common for the highly successful CEOs to be a Steve or Richard or Donald.  But not a James or Jim!

What is going on?

There are some reasons I could speculate on in terms of numerology for James ( or Jim) for it not being successful or Donald as Don for being successful … but that is just speculation and typically numerology is more complex than just first names.

Regardless of numerology, as can be seen with this study I think names deserve more study for their actual effect.

It’s an accepted belief of the author of this site that consciousness is primary. Something as important as name has the potential to alter our and others consciousness. The exact mechanism is unknown, but this study confirms how impressions and names can impact factors like success and status.

The original link is at the top of the page.

This is a cut-and-paste of the article:

What’s in a name?

Published: November 22, 2006 in Knowledge@W.P. Carey

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but would a businessperson without a popular first name be as likely to savor the smell of success in the executive suite?

Maybe, because success is mainly merit-based, but a common name doesn’t hurt, according to research by Lee McPheters, senior associate dean with the W. P. Carey School of Business. To his surprise, McPheters found that six names accounted for 35 percent of the highest-paid executives in Phoenix. The names are, in order: Robert, John, Steve, Richard, Donald and William.

Common names; uncommon success

In an article in the Arizona Blue Chip newsletter, McPheters cites the Phoenix Business Journal’s 2006 list of ”High Rollers,” the 100 best-paid executives of metro Phoenix publicly held firms. That list is based on May 2005 data.

The top three names account for 20 percent of the High Rollers. According to U. S. Social Security Administration numbers, those top three baby names — Robert, John and Steve — accounted for less than 10 percent of births from 1945 through 1965.

“The six most frequent names accounted for 15 percent of all births during the period, but account for 35 percent of CEOs, or more than double their share in the general population,” McPheters’ article states.

“There seems to be no reason that immediately comes to mind to explain why people with popular names are overrepresented,” McPheters says of his article. “These are not names they chose for themselves; the names were given at birth, so we can’t say they chose names destined for success as they perhaps chose their college major.”

When it comes to executive compensation, McPheters says in an interview, “Most studies by economists would pay more attention to the characteristics of the company than to the individual when studying factors that influence executive pay.”

He says larger companies and companies in certain industries would pay more.

“And usually, we would expect that companies that are either more profitable or have seen increases in stock prices or have paid higher dividends would pay their executives more,” McPheters says. “Characteristics of the individual are secondary. Perhaps age would be a factor, on the reasoning that people progress in their careers, even as CEOs, and would expect higher pay as they become more senior. But economic theory would not have much to say about why people with certain names would be overrepresented among listings of higher paid executives.”

What happened to James?

There’s no mistaking the gender dominance revealed by McPheters’ research. Of the 100 High Rollers listed, 96 are men.

“Assuming women account for 50 percent of the population in the relevant age group, men are clearly disproportionately overrepresented,” he writes. “The gender gap in pay and advancement has been studied at length. The current CEO listing in a major metro area is a reminder that change has been slow to come. But the gender representation on the list is probably not surprising to those familiar with similar data nationally.”

McPheters says he also looked at the Forbes national list of the 100 highest-paid CEOs nationally. John accounted for eight of the 100 (all male) and Robert was second with five, along with Steven and Henry, also with five.

“These four popular names accounted for 23 percent of the highest paid CEOs nationally, and three of the names (John, Robert and Steve/Steven) were the same three that were most frequent in the Phoenix listing,” McPheters says.

Some parents worry about saddling a child with a hard-to-pronounce or hard-to-spell name that proves confusing when folks first get acquainted. Others worry that a common name might be uninteresting.

“One conclusion would be that parents that worry about their child having a popular name that is ‘too popular’ shouldn’t worry so much,” McPheters says. “Apparently, people with popular names tend to do well in listings of highest-paid executives.”

The correlation between popular names and business success is far from
absolute.

“If one were to argue that popular names lead to advancement in business, one would also have to explain what happened to James, the most popular name of all,” McPheters writes. “James accounted for 4 percent of birth names between 1945-65 but only 2 percent of High Roller names. The analytically minded will also point out that there are many other individual names on the list that are overrepresented, at least to some extent.”

Among McPheters’ findings are the facts that: Name popularity has changed in the past 50 years; only Michael survives in the top 10 boy names; none of the top 10 girl names from 1955 made it in 2005; “Jacob” rose from No. 303 in 1955 to No. 1 in 2005; and “Emily” rose from 223rd in 1955 to the top in 2005.

“Nevertheless, if the most popular names have at least their fair share of CEOs, we can expect the High Roller list in 2055 to feature Jacob, Michael and Joshua and very likely Emma, Emily and Madison, as well,” McPheters’ article concludes.

Is the predominance of common first names indicative of conformity of thought or a “go along to get along” attitude among executives and the boards that hire them?

“Our starting assumption would be that the highest-paid positions in business go to the individuals who are most productive based on past performance and have the most promise of bringing future good fortunes to the firm,” McPheters says. “To the extent that capability begins in childhood, perhaps parents who choose popular names also do other things to make their child popular, including encouraging social interaction, responsibility and achievement.”

McPheters says he doubts that boards hire on the basis of names. “They hire on performance, and the popular name seems to be associated with executive capability, as measured by pay.”

Glass ceiling still strong

What does the predominance of male, middle-of-the-road names say about the effectiveness of decades of affirmative action?

“The glass ceiling — at the highest level — seems to be alive and well,” McPheters says. “In the Phoenix list of top executives, there are several names associated with other cultures and other parts of the globe. These names are uncommon in the USA, but we don’t know if they are popular in their own cultures.”

Are the names cause to suspect that companies are not taking enough account of minority-group members in the Arizona market and perhaps missing business opportunities?

“At the executive level, persons typically have a record of performance that should overwhelm a name,” McPheters says. “But at the entry level, consider a hypothetical situation where a manager is looking at three resumes for one job, and the names are Robert, Roberto and Roberta. Those names may have made more difference in 1960 than they do now, but the executives of today started many years ago.”

“The simple analysis of the names of executives suggests — but does not at all prove – that a popular name is certainly not a detriment, and may be of limited but positive benefit,” McPheters says.

Bottom Line:

  • Although the top three baby names for 1945-65 account for 10 percent of the births, they constitute the top 20 percent of the highest-paid executives in Phoenix in 2005.
  • The six most popular names accounted for 35 percent of the highest-paid executives in Phoenix.
  • Although common names are not the reason for business-career success — merit is –their names probably don’t hurt, and parents who choose popular names may also tend to encourage their children to work well with others and to strive for leadership roles in the workplace.
  • The fact that 96 percent of the top 100 names are male does not indicate great success in incorporating female talent into the business world; nor does the dearth of ethnic minority names. Improvement on both counts seems inevitable.

Gobeckli Tepe: The Hunter Gatherer Temple in Eden

Some key links to the archaeology of Gobeckli Tepe, the Temple built in Eden by hunter gatherers, before the advent of agriculture:

Do These Mysterious Stones Mark the Site of the Garden of Eden?

Digging for History in Gobeckli Tepe, Turkey

Gobekli: Your Questions Answered

Wiki link to Gobeckli Tepe

I don’t know how it can get more interesting.  Hunter gatherer culture, large scale cooperation, large scale building.

Some key insights so far (only about 2% of the temple has been excavated so conclusions may be premature):

  • Religion gave rise to agriculture, not the other way around
  • The early religious designs are so far of animals, likely indicating an animist, non-monotheistic original religion; a spirituality grounded in the observed world, in life and in nature.
  • The temple was buried in tons and tons of sand after roughly 2000 years of operation for unknown reasons
  • Caucasian hunter gatherers had an advanced enough culture to organize the quarrying, moving, and sculpting of 10 to 50 ton stones; agriculture is NOT necessary for huge projects requiring the agreement of hundreds or even thousands of people
  • Human health gradually deteriorated as the millennia passed and food supplies and lifestyle changed from HG to agrarian – this is consistent with agriculture’s effects everywhere
  • The exact function of the place is unknown; while it is speculated it was a temple for the dead no tombs or graves have been found

Would You Build a Temple

… if you were a hunter gatherer?

Hunter gatherers did, 13, 000 years ago in Turkey, the true cradle of human “civilization”, which is to say:  agriculturally based society.

How funny and sad.  While it shows how hunter gatherers were more than capable of building the kind of edifices “civilization” is known for I have to wonder…  Did they know what they were doing?  What that would lead to?  Probably not.  Black swans everywhere.

It looks like the creation of temples (religion) led to the creation of agriculture, according to the archaeologist’s science.

http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/2880,features,gobekli-your-questions-answered

Today the machine turns ever over.  There are no temples built to animal spirit gods.  Instead the only temples of our  time are built to money and commerce, the distant power of a deceitful democracy, and other false gods.

If you build a temple, know the Way.

You Are In Consciousness

Mind is what you inhabit at all times.  Everything else is an inference (such as the existence of the ‘material’ world).  Our language is still badly embedded with preconceptions that do not reflect or help create an accurate picture of reality.

But we know this: we are all in mind, all the time.  All our experience is in mind.  You cannot escape being in consciousness all the time.

You may bang your foot on a rock… and it is in your mind (which does not mean it is fake, or a fantasy, or any other unjustified conclusion… but it is in your mind).

You may feel love, or hate, or pain, or pleasure… and it is in your mind.  You may think electrons exist, or atoms, or molecules, or scientific models and think that this is ‘real’… but it is all in your mind.

What is in your mind may be in the minds of others, or reflected in reality, or dreams, or shared by no other.  Regardless it is ALL in your mind.

You, we, are in consciousness first and always.

The Energy Body Way (the blog’s name) is my term for this reality that we are always in mind, experiencing through it, experiencing as it.  First and foremost in mind-consciousness-awareness; thoughts and feelings!

The Way is the way of waking up to this true, obvious reality and recognizing it for what it is, of letting the preconceptions, models, beliefs, language traps, and all else fall away to the greatest extent possible and claiming your awareness.
