Secrets of Success Stay Secret

The principles of success are almost unknown.  Most of what is written about success is really what sounds good, not what works naturally.

There is almost no real science research about why people are successful, especially financially.

The self help industry is an industry of illusion spinners.  They sell what people want to believe, not what is true.  Usually what people want to believe is that which is the most distant to reality, not what is closest to it!

Endless websites say they know how you too can become successful… for the lowlowlow price of onlyonlyonly x$.  Come on!

Working hard is not it; it’s not why people are successful.  Some inheritors are successful in what they undertake and didn’t work hard at it; others burn out the family fortune in years.

Good looks are not it.  They may help but for every Hollywood star there are the beautiful hundreds who are still valets and waiters who didn’t get lucky.

Talent is not it.  See above.

So what is it?

That’s a good question.  The first thing to realize is that almost no one out there knows.

You might get a report, or an entire book, about how millionaire’s think but for all you know (this is the classic fallacy of confusing correlation with causation, the bane of science research) the millionaires are thinking that way BECAUSE of what is happening to them and what they are doing, not the other way around.

Realizing that, where does that leave you?

It leaves you with a good question.

Why Doesn’t Goal Setting Work?

Why does goal setting require so much reinforcement?  Why do people have to spend so much money on continually getting pumped and re-pumped by the latest book, CD, video, or seminar and have to force and force themselves some more to set and pursue goals?

My hypothesis is goal setting is totally and completely unnatural.

And it doesn’t actually work for most people.

The entire success and self help industry is founded on  ideas and writings that sound good but  in fact do not work.

Free Will, Google and AI, and Military Karma

There is no free will.  Where is it?  Find it for me!

Google may become the first planetary AI.  I hope that happens soon.  It’s dragging its ass a bit right now at its current speed of development.

The US Navy, in the recent shooting of the pirates who took an American hostage, had a chance to end the standoff peacefully when negotiating with Somali elders – the elders wanted to return the hostage with guaranteed safe passage for the pirates.  The US Navy said no, and insisted on ‘bringing the pirates to justice’.  Now, while the work of the US Navy Seals is admirable in freeing the hostage, the US has brought upon itself increased likelihood of further bloodshed.

This Blog’s Numerological Nature and Fate and Success

Numerologically this blog totals a 7 and comes from 8, in the standard energy flow of numerology.

Now for some suitable meditations on the numbers of 7 and 8, the numbers involved in spirituality, analysis, fate, and success…

What governs success?  Is it all chance?  Fate?  It seems to be fate if you think about, even if it is unfashionable to say so.

I’ve spent a lot of time and energy researching success, financial and otherwise.  Despite what people say there seems to be NO method, set of steps, or anything concrete or definable that helps one become successful.  It seems like karma or fate.  It may be ‘working hard’ but you also need skills and a lot of beneficial chances or luck coming your way.

There is no avoiding the fact you need luck, even if it is the luck to inherit the right skills, height, beauty, talent or whichever criteria you need to get where you wish to go.  On top of that then you need yet more luck!

It’s luck in the first place to have the energy and disposition to get the skills to even give you a chance.

Really most people have no idea why they are in the situation they are in, and almost no one has gone from  ‘zero to hero’, except by luck.

Nassim Taleb, author of The Black Swan, writes about this.  If you want a middle class life learn the skills and hope for the best (no injury or attack by a sociopath).  But to be rich you need a lot of luck.

Lack of Freedom on Earth is Really Getting Disturbing

There is less and less freedom with every passing day on this planet.

People have forgotten the merits of free speech.  With this mis-step a cascade of reductions in personal liberty occur shortly thereafter.  The governments of the Western World are behind this assualt on personal freedom; they are the creators or mediums of the new regulations on expression.

This can only lead to war.

There are things I could say that would prevent this.  But why do so? I have nothing to gain by it.

This world is made to collapse. It is an evolutionary process. It is only when there are enough people on the planet who have foresight and can see the future of how government changes society that we will have our freedom.

Our people are scattered. We are spread far and wide and we don’t have a ready means to identify each other in the internet world.

It may even be dangerous to do so.

Regardless, we are the future. One way or the other we will prevail if it is possible to do so.

Is the planet so locked down it’s impossible?  Perhaps.  But in all likelihood the coming war(s), the ones coming in the next 9 years, are likely to shake things up again.  Enough for us to win more freedom and build the real future, the one where the old humanity is left behind: the species will transition into something different from what came before.

This is a hard subject for me to discuss but not because it is supposedly so  ‘inexplicable’ – it is hard for me to write about because it is so obvious!

The truth about this is a small percentage of the population understands automatically why these things happen.  Amazingly the vast majority of  humans do not understand – they are utterly baffled by it!

Online comments on the story reflect a total ignorance about the obvious reasons, and the usual idiotic commentary:  ‘are video games the culprit’; ‘the parents blah blah’; ‘guns should be banned outright’; etc…

Oh, it’s so stupid.  I can’t even bear to respond point by point to the utter stupidity, the total ignorance demonstrated by the public. What’s frightening, really, is how mindless and without values most people are (and I’m not talking about the shooter).

Are people alive? Are they robots? Drones? Slaves?

I will not tell you why Tim Kretschmer went on his rampage of slaughter.

You should know why.

As long as the vast majority of people are both clueless about it and unwilling to do anything about it even if they knew why, then this will continue on and on, and it will escalate.

This time Tim Kretschmer killed more teachers than the usual shootings.  It looks like 2 or 3 teachers were killed and one employee at the psychiatric institute where he was treated for depression.

Gradually expect the body counts in these events to become more targeted, to switch to teachers, authority figures, psychiatrists.

Also expect that with enough adults dying then this will get more serious attention.

In closing I will add a few words I posted to Arthur de Vany’s excellent blog on evolutionary fitness.

…keeping young men in school forever as we do today, and basically powerless until age 30, would have no precedent – they would be hunters by 15 or 16, or dead. This may serve mediocre teachers by helping them pay their mortgages but not the young people, nor society.

I can’t tell people to WAKE UP, because those who are awake often, if not always, have no power. If this changes then the school shootings will stop. Otherwise… they will continue or we will endorse draconian measures that turn schools into prisons and lose all meaningful freedoms and true education in the process.

A spiritual revolution is needed.

God = Hope

Parts of humanity believe in a God because they have to; they can’t bear reality.

Reality doesn’t offer hope. Nor does it offer ‘progress’, ‘improvement’, or ‘achievement’ – these are human creations; they are cultural constructs designed to create a game of life, to make it either bearable or enjoyable depending on how much one is winning the game.

These games have no intrinsic value.

They are created by whoever has the largest numbers in society, or the most control as a group, and ruled by their dispositions and whims. As such it is unequal, arbitrary, and not tuned to any higher value such as justice, truth, or fairness (although it may masquerade as doing so to continue the pre-existing power structure).

The games or our society, of anyone that lives in what is ironically called ‘civilization’, are a form of genetic warfare.

It is waged at all times within human society, an interspecies war.

THE DENIED TRUTH ABOUT HUMANITY IS:

Humanity is innately genocidal

We kill aspects of our collective occasionally. As individuals we can’t see the reason for this.  And there may be no actual reason for this…

But we can’t say for sure.

Often there is a wisdom in nature, so it is possible these inter-species wars of ours serve an evolutionary function.

In fact from an evolutionary perspective this must be the case; that is, the mass culling of segments of humanity allow the survivors to grow stronger; and for parts of the collective body to thrive.

Humanity seems to fight for the survival and propagation of its entire species but in amounts and distribution we can never predict; humanity as a whole has an agenda of its own. It may calculate or sense the future in some way, or automatically calibrate for maximum survivability in a highly and increasingly uncertain environment.

This does not help us as individuals. To our own self this is meaningless, or even a violation of our desire for a higher ideal to guide life. So we may have to create a fantasy that there is such a higher ideal.

A hope made real… but untrue.

As long as the price of the delusions we hold as a society are the truth, and justice, true freedom, and harmony with our nature – then every social change ever thought of, every supposed new start, every revolution or supposed evolution will FAIL.

False hope has to die or there can be no true progress.

You Are In Consciousness

Mind is what you inhabit at all times.  Everything else is an inference (such as the existence of the ‘material’ world).  Our language is still badly embedded with preconceptions that do not reflect or help create an accurate picture of reality.

But we know this: we are all in mind, all the time.  All our experience is in mind.  You cannot escape being in consciousness all the time.

You may bang your foot on a rock… and it is in your mind (which does not mean it is fake, or a fantasy, or any other unjustified conclusion… but it is in your mind).

You may feel love, or hate, or pain, or pleasure… and it is in your mind.  You may think electrons exist, or atoms, or molecules, or scientific models and think that this is ‘real’… but it is all in your mind.

What is in your mind may be in the minds of others, or reflected in reality, or dreams, or shared by no other.  Regardless it is ALL in your mind.

You, we, are in consciousness first and always.

The Energy Body Way (the blog’s name) is my term for this reality that we are always in mind, experiencing through it, experiencing as it.  First and foremost in mind-consciousness-awareness; thoughts and feelings!

The Way is the way of waking up to this true, obvious reality and recognizing it for what it is, of letting the preconceptions, models, beliefs, language traps, and all else fall away to the greatest extent possible and claiming your awareness.
